Press Release: CMA Welcomes Historic Federal Investment in National Critical Minerals Stockpile
Denver, CO — The Colorado Mining Association (CMA) issued the following statement welcoming the White House’s announcement of a national critical minerals stockpile initiative, known as Project Vault, and the creation of the Forum on Resource Geostrategic Engagement (FORGE).
The Administration’s decision to establish a $12 billion national critical minerals stockpile is a historic initiative that strengthens America’s supply chain resilience and reduces dependence on foreign sources,” said Adam Eckman, President and CEO of the Colorado Mining Association. “Critical minerals are essential to our economic security, advanced manufacturing, clean energy technologies, and national defense, and Colorado is home to many of the critical mineral resources needed to meet these objectives. Together with the creation of FORGE—a new forum designed to coordinate industry, government, and allied partners on critical minerals strategy—this initiative reflects a strategic, long-term approach to securing the materials the nation depends on. This effort recognizes the importance of developing these resources here at home. The Colorado Mining Association looks forward to supporting the successful implementation of Project Vault and advancing responsible domestic critical minerals development that strengthens U.S. supply chain resilience.
