Welcome to the Colorado Mining Association

As the oldest professional mining industry trade association in the U.S., CMA is comprised of companies who are actively engaged in the exploration, production, and refining of metals, coal and industrial minerals, and the businesses and individuals that offer services and supplies to the mining industry.
CMA supports its members professional growth through networking opportunities, industry recognition, educational programs and events, industry news, and advocacy efforts.

Our annual conference is the largest event showcasing mining in Colorado. Attendees connect with hundreds of mining professionals and exhibitors at this must attend industry event. In 2021 we will hold our first virtual conference, bringing educational programming, industry awards and exhibitor interactions directly to attendees in their home, office, or jobsite. Other events throughout the year include webinars, our wildly popular golf tournament, and St. Barbara’s Day.

Standing committees in the areas of Coal, Hardrock & Uranium, Water Quality and Government Affairs address important industry issues and make recommendations to CMA’s Board of Directors on potential policy issues.

As the voice of mining throughout much of Colorado and the west, CMA works to defeat legislation that would discourage mining and to support policies that encourage its growth. CMA’s full-time lobbyist provides important updates to members on the association’s activities through the monthly Rock & Coal newsletter.

Challenging demographic and political trends make it more important than ever that we join together with a collective voice to ensure the sustainability of the mining industry in Colorado. I hope you will join me in the continued effort to support our community by becoming a CMA member.

We look forward to your involvement with CMA.

Stan Dempsey, Jr.
