The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Atomic Legacy Cabin preserves the history of uranium on the Colorado Plateau and Grand Junction’s unique contribution to the Manhattan Project during World War II and the Cold War era. The interpretive center’s exhibit topics include mining and milling in the Four Corners area, local mill tailing cleanup and remediation, as well as the current mission of the DOE Office of Legacy Management.
