In January 2017 Colowyo received final approval of the Mine Plan from the U.S. Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE). While this was a major milestone for the continued operation of the Colowyo Mine, some remaining permits are still required before mining in the area can commence. Colowyo continues to work with local, state and federal agencies to obtain the necessary remaining permits. Click here for additional details.

Comments will be accepted from now until January 27, 2018, and can be submitted three ways:

1) Through the community-supported website
2) Via email (Requited subject line: Draft Permit 16MF1324F - Collom Expansion to Colowyo Coal Mine)
3) Through regular mail addressed to:

Jonathan Brickey
Permit Engineer
Construction Permits Unit
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
4300 Cherry Creek Drive South, APCD-SS-B1
Denver, CO 80246-1530

The Colowyo Mine provides more than 220 jobs and an estimated $12 million annually in local, state and federal tax revenue - positive impacts that will continue for decades if the Collom project is approved. That is why we are so grateful for your continued support.
