Press Release: CMA Praises USGS Updated Critical Minerals List
November 6, 2025Denver, CO – The Colorado Mining Association (CMA) issued the following statement welcoming the updated U.S. Geological Survey critical minerals list.
“As the world’s demand for mineral resources continues to grow, the updated USGS list reaffirms the fact that the United States must continue to strengthen its domestic mineral supply,” said Adam Eckman, President & CEO of CMA. “The updated list serves as a national roadmap—one that guides industry, policymakers, and government agencies prioritize permitting, research, and responsible mineral development in order to reduce reliance on foreign sources. Colorado has the geology, the workforce, and the operational expertise to help meet the nation’s growing demand for critical minerals.” Eckman added. “The updated list underscores the strategic value of the resources found right here in our state and highlights the importance of maintaining a stable, predictable, and efficient regulatory environment that allows responsible mining to develop these critical sources.”
